NOM eSports place third in VRL East: Surge - Stage 2

NOM eSports have placed third in the second stage of VRL East: Surge. The journey in the playoffs started with an Upper Semifinals matchup against TENSTAR. This was a rough one for us. TENSTAR won Map 1, with a score of 13-7 and then Map 2, with a score of 13-5. With the loss, there was still hope. We moved on down to the Lower Bracket Round 1, where we faced off against Anorthosis Famagusta Esports, who knocked us out of the playoffs last stage. This time, we had some surprises for them, as WE were the ones to 2-0 them and end their season.

The first map of the series, which was Icebox, started great for us, as we won eight rounds in the first half and quickly won four more, to give us the win. The score was 13-7. The next map was Ascent, where we also had a good first half, winning seven rounds, and then finished it off good in the second half as well. The final score for that map was 13-9. With the win, we moved into the Loser Bracket Final, where we played Diamant Esports. This was an extremely close matchup the whole way through. We won a close Map 1, with a score of 13-11. However, they won the next one 13-9. It all came down to the third and final map, which was on Icebox, and it was an extremely close one. We took a 7-5 lead at half, but things got even closer in the second. Diamant Esports won the final round, which forced overtime. Like the rest of the series, overtime was extremely close. It was a back-and-forth battle, but Diamant got the win, 16-14. With the loss, we were unfortunately knocked out of the playoffs and ultimately placed third in the league, taking home €3,000! We are super proud of the team's performance this Stage and we'll be back and stronger for the next one!
